Pay per project, never per month of salary

A senior WordPress developer costs $120,000 a year. We cost nothing until you have a project.

No salary, no benefits, no three-month hiring process, no bench time between client work. You pay per project, at a price agreed before we start. See the work first: send any client site and we’ll return a free technical audit within 24 hours.

What each option actually costs you

In-house senior dev Us
Base salary $120,000/yr —
Benefits, tax, insurance ~$30,000/yr —
Software and licences ~$3,000/yr Included
Recruiting and onboarding 2–4 months Same week
Cost in a slow month Full salary $0
Cost of a bad hire 6–9 months of salary Switch partners, no notice period
Typical project cost — $1,500–$6,000, fixed before we start
Monthly maintenance — From $300/month
At $1,500 to $6,000 a build, you would need to ship more than twenty sites a year before a full-time hire becomes the cheaper option. Most agencies ship four to eight.

Where $120,000 becomes $153,000

Salary is the headline number but the true cost of a full-time developer runs 25 to 30% higher once employer tax, benefits, equipment, software licences and paid leave are counted. Add the months the role sits empty while you recruit, and the weeks between client projects when the developer is on payroll with nothing billable to do.

None of that disappears in a quiet quarter. That is the real difference, not the hourly rate.

When hiring is actually the right call

We would rather tell you this now than six months in.

01

You're shipping more than 20 builds a year.

At that volume a full-time developer is cheaper and faster than any outsourced arrangement.

02

Your work is deeply custom.

Bespoke application development, complex integrations and long-running product work are better served in-house.

03

Your clients require all work to stay domestic.

Some government and healthcare contracts do. We cannot help there and would not pretend otherwise.
If none of those describe you, a partner costs less and moves faster. If one of them does, hire, and come back to us for overflow.
